How a Tiny Island Nation Captured the Lead in the Genetic Revolution

deCODE Genetics, an Icelandic company studying the population of Iceland. They're an isolated population, with geneologic history often traced back a thousand or more years. The Icelandic government has given deCODE access to that data, which they've combined with extensive genetic information (blood samples from citizens) to identify genes associated with disease.
