Die-Hard Cub Fan Trapped in Virtual Hell!
This site must have been created by a taunting White Sox fan! Seriously, trying to purchase a few Cubs tickets, which went on sale this morning at 10:00 am CST has been an exceedingly frustrating experience! You click on the date you want, then a window pops up like the one below telling you to wait.....and wait....and wait! The screen refreshes every 30 seconds, and the only thing that's changed is that now they're starting to list dates that have been sold out! The first to go was July 1st, when the World Series champions Chicago White Sox visit Wrigley Field to play the three day "Cross town classic". All I wanted was to get a few tickets in the bleachers for my kids, but technology seems to be stacked against me!
Click to read the fine print!
PS-I hedged my bets by also trying to call their 800 phone number to order, but couldn't even get through on that line either! I hope this is the Cubs year to go all the way, because they sure have a lot of fans supporting them! Go Cubs!
UPDATE-
I went back in a few minutes after posting the above and now the window says the following are sold out:
Cubs vs. Cardinals 4/7/2006
Cubs vs. White Sox 7/1/2006
Cubs vs. White Sox 7/2/2006

The most frustrating part is that this means that SOMEONE is getting through, just not me! Argh! A "techie" frustrated by technology! How can that be?!? ;-)
A happy ending! After ~4 1/2 hours we got through and were able to get bleacher tickets for the weekend we wanted, if not the actual day we wanted.
