Dutch Elm disease strikes close to home!

Some workmen start to cut up the trunk of an ~75-80 year old tree in our back yard. A large limb cracked over the weekend, and we learned the tree had Dutch Elm disease and couldn't be saved. ;-( We've enjoyed it's shade for 15 years, and feel like we've lost a friend. We'll have to replant our yard, since the "shade" grass won't last long now!
