Crash Test Dummy Inventor Alderson Dies
I saw the story linked above and, perversely, thought it would be appropriate to include a picture of the "dummies" on their way to Sam's funeral! Call me warped, right?!? Anyway, Mr. Anderson did a lot of good with his inventions. There's an interesting history of his work, starting with "Sierra Sam" in 1949, in the story above and at About.com.

Note to self: I need to work on developing a way to improve Internet search engines so that one can easily exclude things like "Crash Test Dummies" the band from searches for "Crash Test Dummies" the actual human-like test dummies!
