We're snow bound!
Yikes! We've been hit by a big snow storm, predicted to drop 15" (38 cm) of snow by tonight.
This is one of those days when you have to stop and count the number of steps on your deck or front porch, since the last few are buried in the snow! Speaking of buried.... Cassie loves the snow, but this is a bit deep even for her. The snow is over her shoulder. Sarah came up with a great idea when visiting earlier this month, which was to clear a patch of grass (~4 feet wide) where Cassie can "do her business" without having to dig for dirt! I cleared a patch for Cassie, which I know she'll enjoy over the coming days (especially since it usually gets colder after the snow and everything else freezes!). I know 15" isn't much by Evergreen standards (or by Black Forest standards, either!), but it does slow things down a lot in our neighborhood....
We're doing well, at least we've got a great reserve of coffee and hot chocolate! Send cat food, if you have any! (Just kidding; we'll get out to get food for Milo.) Stay warm. Adios,
Larry
PS-Sarah's dealing with 9~10" of snow in Cleveland from the same storm.
1/23 Update- Everything is pretty much cleared up. The streets are clear, and we went shopping today without any problems. It's a good thing this didn't hit us on a school day! Our friends in Boston got 24" with 60+ mile an hour wind gusts, so school's closed tomorrow (Monday)!
